Connie Fletcher
Religious Education/Digital Communications/Bulletin Editor
I am proud to be a part of the great staff at St. Edith’s since September 2018, and my journey here has been both fulfilling and humbling. Born and raised in Livonia, I have always felt a deep connection to my community. My husband, Rick, and I were married in 1986 at St. Michael the Archangel.
In 2002, we became parishioners at St. Edith, where our son, Ricky, was baptized. It was during this time that I entered the RCIA (now OCIA) program and was also baptized myself. Embracing my faith opened up new avenues for me to serve; it all began with simple graphic creations before evolving into website coding and taking on the role of Catachist for Religious Education.
In 2020, I transitioned to a full-time position which allowed me to immerse myself even more deeply into the parish life. Alongside working in the Religious Education Department and creating posters and flyers for events, I adapted quickly when Covid forced us to share Mass virtually. Before we installed our camera system for live streaming services, Fr. Jim and I recorded Mass on my cell phone while I learned how to edit video—a steep learning curve but ultimately rewarding.
As we welcomed Heather Shina aboard to enhance our virtual Mass experience with music. Now we stream Mass live on Facebook! Over time I've also taken on responsibilities as webmaster for both the church and school, social media manager, and most recently adding Bulletin Editor to my title.
Every aspect of this job brings me joy; I'm grateful for each opportunity I've had to meet incredible people within our parish community and collaborate with such talented colleagues. Thank you all for allowing me to share my talents with St. Edith’s—it's truly an honor that enriches my life every day.
