Sacrament of Reconciliation
Students from Religious Education and St. Edith Catholic School will soon receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We ask our parishioners to keep these children in your prayers as they continue to grow in Faith and experience the healing power of God.
Religious Education 2020-2021
We pray this finds you and your family well and healthy. It has been a trying time these last few months and continues to be a challenge especially when we must consider the safety and well-being of our children. We have wrestled back and forth in planning for Religious Education for 2020/2021 with our primary goal the safety of our students, catechists, compromised family members, and the St. Edith school students with whom we share space. At this time it has been decided that we will be offering the following for St. Edith Religious Education students.
Students in grades 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be online. These weekly recorded lessons will be catechist led and will be available for your child to watch and complete at your convenience during that week. This means that you do not have to be online at a specific time to participate in the lesson. A link to these recordings will be emailed weekly to the primary email written on your registration form. There will be an assessment that will be completed by your child to be returned to the Religious Education office through email. Materials will be available for pick up soon.
Students in Sacramental preparation grades, (2nd, 7th and 8th graders), have the option to attend weekly classes in person on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45AM beginning October 4th or online on Mondays through ZOOM starting Oct. 5th from 5:00-6:00PM for 2nd graders and 5:30-6:30PM for 7th and 8th graders. These sessions are not recorded but live to enable interaction with the catechist.
If you want online sessions please type in “online class” in the Missed Sacraments/Notes box on the Registration Form. Please see the additional letter regarding safety protocols that are in place for ALL in person students.
Students who have attended our Special Needs program in the past will be contacted regarding scheduling in person classes after we receive your registration.
Students who are missing Sacraments will be contacted regarding scheduling in person sacrament preparation after we receive your registration.
Please download, save and then complete the fillable pdf Registration Form (see Forms & Information box to the right) and return along with the RE Tuition. Checks should be made out to “St. Edith” and can be mailed or dropped off at the Main Parish Office (there is an after hour drop-box located to the right of the main entrance door). For your convenience we are able to take payments through Visa or Master Card online.
Current fees are:
- $110.00 for 1 child
- $175.00 for 2 or more children
Please feel free to call 734-464-2020, or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you and God Bless!
Director of Faith Formation
About the Religious Education Program
Religious Education classes include preparation for the completion of the Sacraments of Initiation; Reconciliation and Eucharist during the second grade.
The goal of our Religious Formation Program is to provide an awareness of God’s presence in our children's lives and an appreciation, connectedness and better understanding of the Catholic faith and its traditions. We look forward each year as we partner with our parents helping our young people further their understanding and practice of our Catholic Faith as they take another step closer in getting to "Know, Love & Serve" the Lord here at St. Edith!
All catechists participate in the Protecting God's Children program. If you would be interested in sharing your faith and helping our children understand the faith more consider giving your time to this ministry! Contact Linda Kramer for more information at email@example.com or 734-464-2020.
