I AM VERY HAPPY TO WELCOME BOB CALLEJA TO OUR ST. EDITH STAFF.
Bob is our new Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor. Bob is beginning his position at St. Edith on Monday, January 4th. He is taking the place of Bill Kelley, who retired January 1st after 35 years of service at St. Edith. He has big shoes to fill.
Bob brings a wealth of experience with him. He worked as a Project Manager and Crew Leader for 5 years. In this position he supervised and trained a team of commercial and residential construction workers through all aspects of remodeling, demolition and rebuilding of office suites for commercial properties and residential projects and renovated over 100 dilapidated homes in Detroit for an investor. Bob was a Business Owner and Operator for 10 years. He was responsible for selling, managing and completing all types of jobs for residential and commercial customers throughout the Metro Detroit area. Responsibilities included project management and execution of custom finish carpentry, drywall and replaster, painting, tile general repairs and installation projects.
For the past 2 years, Bob has been the Facilities Manager at Old St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ann Arbor. Bob is particularly interested in working for the Catholic Church. He has completed the Basic Diploma in Catholic Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. At St. Valentine Parish he has been a Religious Education Teacher for 8th graders and has been part of their R.C.I.A. team. He lives close by in Redford.
I want to thank members of the Search Committee for all of their work in interviewing multiple candidates and assisting me in selecting Bob Calleja for this position. In addition to me, the Search Committee was made up of Georgene Wojciechowski, our School Principal; Greg Boyer, St. Colette Business Manager; and Alex Colton, St. Colette Maintenance Staff.
