I am a member of the St. Edith community as an alumnus of the school (Go Eagles!) and as a parishioner, first joining with my family in the early 1980s and returning after college in the early 2000s. My earliest involvement with St. Edith was as an altar server and now as an adult, I am a regular Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass attendee who may have served you fish at one of our Lenten Fish Fry dinners! For me, what I like most about St. Edith is the people. Some of my closest friends (and their families) I met while attending St. Edith School and we still fondly reminisce about our good times while students. Additionally, the friendships I have developed as an adult with fellow parishioners, whether through parish activities and/or by just getting to know the people who sit in my “section” at church are great sources of support (and fun times)! As a new member of the Parish Council, I am quickly learning and gaining a better understanding of how St. Edith operates. Much hard work by many people, including Fr. Jim, the staff, and fellow parishioners goes into making St. Edith such an active and thriving community – one that I am happy to be a member of and enjoy! Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or comments at (734) 776-1276. |
