October makes one think of St. Francis and the Blessing of the Animals.  While that wasn’t necessarily the motivation for this memoir, loving animals certainly was.  As an example of the adage, ‘life is what happens while you’re making other plans’, read Laurie’s story and share your thoughts with the ST.
