Might you be interested? Or know of someone who might be?
With the coming of fall comes a new session for those interested in becoming Catholic. You may hear the initials, RCIA, which stands for the Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults and is “Church Language” for those in the process of becoming Roman Catholic. At St. Edith Becoming Catholic is more than just coming to classes, it’s a faith journey for those becoming Roman Catholic and we do it with “Open Arms” - which is what we’ve named our Becoming Catholic journey here at St. Edith.
Who is our Becoming Catholic with "Open Arms" Program for?
The answer is “all of the parish!" All of us can invite a person that we know is not Catholic to come and consider the faith. We all also help those on the journey to becoming Catholic through either prayer, or perhaps as a sponsor. Through our involvement we can all renew our faith!
Are you a non-Catholic in one of our many St. Edith interfaith marriages? A Catholic who has not, yet, been confirmed? Do you know of a non-Catholic who has curiosities about the faith? Or a previous Catholic who may be interested in coming back?
Prayerfully consider Becoming Catholic. We meet on Wednesdays beginning in early October from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Office Fireside Room. If you have any questions please call, or send an email. We'll be happy to talk with you!
