CHRISTMAS OUTREACH GIFT CARD COLLECTION FOR HOPE CLINIC

As you know, COVID-19 has thrown all of our lives in a different direction and the same can be said of how we normally do Outreach at Christmas time here at St Edith!  For Christmas we are doing a gift card collection for Hope Clinic in Ypsilanti.  We normally put tags on the tree for Hope Clinic for people to buy items for their Christmas Shop.  This year, because of COVID,  they are not having their Christmas Shop or a gift exchange as they have in years past. 

Hope Clinic serves many of the working poor; those who are employed but underemployed and therefore have no health or dental insurance, and who often need help with food as well.  Last year alone they had over 60,000 requests for help in the areas of: Medical, Dental, Food, Care and Prayer!  Their goal is to serve the whole person; medically, with food, and spiritually. They run free health and dental clinics in Ypsilanti and Wayne.  Their main campus is in Ypsilanti where they also have a food pantry in addition to the clinics, and at Christmas they normally have a Christmas Shop for their clients at the Ypsilanti location.  Again, because of COVID they aren’t able to do that this year but they are asking for $25 gift cards to Target, Meijer or Visa/Master Card gift cards that they will be able to provide to their clients who will then do their own gift and/or food shopping.

If you would be willing to provide a $25 gift card for Hope Clinic that would be wonderful!  You can drop in the Offertory Collection while at Mass or in the after hours drop box at the Parish Office.  We will collect cards throughout the entire month of November and the first week of December. Please put the cards in an envelope and mark “Hope Clinic.”
