Is your Catholic stewardship growing?
Have you given any thought to your Catholic stewardship lately? Is it becoming a larger and larger focus of your life - or something easily overlooked, postponed, simply forgotten? Since a life of gratitude - realizing that everything we are and have comes from God's unending and boundless love for us - is the first mark of a Catholic steward, it means we should be making daily choices that glorify and give thanks to God. The old axiom, "Tell me to what you pay attention and I'll tell you who you are" certainly rings true. One should be able to recognize the Christian disciple by the place God holds in his or her daily life.
The most obvious path to making God our greatest priority is prayer, which makes us more intensely aware of God's impact in our lives and opens us more fully to His love. It makes us realize how utterly dependent we are on God's grace, love, and mercy. Even the simple desire to pray is a gift from God - and a clear sign of His presence in our lives!
