Event Name:Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Date:November 11, 2018
Start Time:9:30 AM
Duration:1 day
Description:
Operation Christmas Child is a family service event where shoeboxes are packed with toiletry and hygene items and sent to needy children in the US and around the world.

We will be packing boxes on Sunday, November 11 after 8:30 Mass (around 9:30 am) in the Gym and on Monday, November 12 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.  The Religious Educaiton classes and their families will be particpating and all parishoners are welcome to join in!

We are also in need of donations, which can be dropped of after Mass on the weekends of October 27/28 and November 3/4, and also brought in on the days of packing.

Items can include small toys, balls, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, magnifying glass, flashlights (with batteries) crayons, pencils, markers, solar calculators, rulers, small notebooks, NON-LIQUID hygiene items (NO TOOTHPASTE), bar soap, hairbrushes, combs, washcloth, sunglasses, t-shirts, hair-clips, watches, hats, flip-flops, small craft items, bracelets, picture of your family, notes, string backpacks etc. Please keep in mind the items need to fit into a shoebox!

Please-- NO liquids, candy, war toys, breakable containers, used or damaged goods, etc.

We have a lot and lots of boxes, some pre-printed, so you do not have to have a box to come and pack a box. Other helpful items include tape and wrapping paper and scissors for the day of wrapping and packing.

We do need monetary donations to help cover the $9 per box that covers processing and shipping to places all around the world. Samaritan's Purse is an organization that acts as the hands of Christ.

Looking forward to packing more boxes that we have ever done before! Thanks in advance

Margaret Rudis and Marlene Dahlin
